David Silva reveals reason for not signing Lazio
After ending his career at Manchester City this summer, David Silva is in the spotlight. None other than related to his decision to move to Real Sociedad, even though initially he was about to join Lazio.
In fact, the process of moving the Manchester City legend to the Italian Serie A club is almost 100 percent. Reportedly, the player has reached a personal agreement with Lazio and even a medical schedule has been set.
In other words, the completion of Silva’s move to Lazio is only a matter of days away. But surprisingly, the 34-year-old dumped the Biancocelesi and instead joined Spanish La Liga club, Real Sociedad.
Of course the player’s decision made Lazio furious, even the club’s sporting director, Igli Tare, admitted that he had lost respect for David SIlva.
After being silent for a long time, finally David Silva issued a clarification regarding his decision. He admitted that the decision was based on his own family factors.
“I received several offers, but I chose offers from Real, because this club is playing very well and suits my style,”
“I already know San Sebastian, from the time I was in Eibar, this is a beautiful and calm area. The family has played a big role in this decision,” said David Silva as quoted by the official Real Sociedad website.
Meanwhile, Real Sociedad itself is no longer a mid-table team in the Spanish La Liga, at least it can be seen from their achievements this season by finishing 6th in the final standings.
They also successfully reached the final of the Copa Del Rey and will face Athletic Bilbao. Silva is likely to appear in that match.
“I hope we can finish well, and with my small contribution we can achieve something.”
“I often watch La Liga and La Real perform very well. I get good directions from the coach. I think there are many good things that can be done here. It is a beautiful and interesting challenge,” he said.
