Cristiano Ronaldo was offered to Barcelona?

Recently, rumors have circulated that Juventus are considering the possibility of releasing Cristiano Ronaldo. The defending Serie A champion has even offered the player to several clubs, including Barcelona.

The rumor actually originated from the statement of one of the Spanish football experts, Guillem Balague. He claims that Juventus plans to cut club expenses from player salaries.

Please note, currently Cristiano Ronaldo is indeed the most expensive paid player in Turin at this time with a value of 31 million euros per year. The salary will not change as long as his contract in Turin continues.

It is for this reason that Balague claims that Juventus will release Cristiano Ronaldo. He has already offered the Portuguese player to several clubs, including Barcelona.

“Juventus want to get rid of the salary burden. The situation is really that drastic. He has been offered everywhere, including to Barcelona,” said Balague to BBC Radio 5 Live.

However, this rumor was immediately denied by an unnamed representative of Ronaldo. The denial was conveyed to the leading Spanish media, Diario AS.

He can ensure that Cristiano Ronaldo is happy at Juventus and plans to stay in Turin until his contract expires in 2022.

Ronaldo’s representative confirmed that the rumors circulating were false. He also emphasized that the star is happy to play in Turin and wants to stay until his contract is over.

For information, Juventus recruited Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid through a pocket of no less than 100 million euros in the summer of 2018.

Even though he is now 35 years old, Ronaldo can still be a player that Juventus can rely on. For example this season, he managed to score 37 goals from 46 caps in all competitions.

Thanks to his slick performance, Juventus also managed to defend the Italian Serie A title this season.

2 of the 37 goals came in the second leg of the last 16 of the European Champions League against Lyon. Unfortunately, this was not enough to bring the Bianconneri to the quarter-finals.

Even though the aggregate is as strong as 2-2, the French club has the right to step into the last eight because of the away goals rule.
