Conte not interested heaped praise for Atalanta after winning 2nd place

A draw against Fiorentina meant that Inter Milan had to give up 2nd place to Atalanta, who in fact was the dark horse team this season. However, instead of giving flattery, coach Antonio Conte actually called Gian Pero Gasperini’s troops a loser.

As is known, the Nerazzurri play the 35th Italian Giornata on Thursday morning (23/07). The target is to win to cut the gap with temporary leaders, Juventus.

Unfortunately, dealing with Fiorentina, Inter were only able to gain one point from a 0-0 draw. One additional point makes Inter fail to reclaim the second position occupied by Atalanta at this time.

Please note, the team made by Gian Pero Gasperini successfully won victory over Bologna at the same time.

Atalanta’s slick notes seem to prove that they are a dark horse team that cannot be underestimated. This season, Atalanta even competed at the top with Inter Milan and Lazio, and now they are in the top position compared to the two teams.

But, Antonio Conte as Inter Milan coach unwilling to send flattery to Atalanta. In fact, according to him, the 2nd position in the Italian Serie A standings is the first rank for the loser team.

“The second position is meaningless in my eyes, it is only the first rank for losers. Some are happy with it, but I am not. I also don’t want players to be happy with that, “he told Sky Sport Italia.

Furthermore, Conte was reluctant to blame his players for the draw against Fiorentina. According to the ex-Chelsea coach, Inter Milan were just unlucky.

“It was a good match, we played with the right intensity accompanied by pass moves. but unlucky when the ball hits the pole twice, ”

“I can’t complain when players exert such passion, and we even take risks with the passion to win. Fiorentina deserves praise for a good defense performance, “he concluded.

This draw increases Juventus’ chances of defending the Scudetto, if they win over Udinese at dawn, the practical title is won again by the Bianconneri.
