The draw against Hellas Verona was indeed very disappointing for Inter Milan, but coach Antonio Conte insisted that his team were on the right track.
Having had a big win with a score of 6-0 over Brescia, Inter Milan surprisingly surrendered in the hands of Bologna through the final score 1-2. Shortly after, they only won just one point in the match against Hellas Verona.
This series of bad results made Inter Milan forced to accept the fact that the club slumped to 4th place in the standings. Antonio Conte’s men only have 65 points from 31 Serie A matches.
With this bad record, Inter Milan’s chances of winning the Italian Serie A title again can be said to be very small. How come? Lautaro Martinez et al now 11 points adrift of the top standings, Juventus.
Coach Antonio Conte himself had expressed his disappointment at the failure of Inter Milan to gain full points in the match against Hellas Verona. But apart from the final results, the former Juventus coach considered that the players had performed well.
The tactician considers that Inter Milan is on the right track for now.
“The things that I emphasize are really simple, I said very clearly to the team that I was satisfied with the performance we did against Verona, and because of that we were on the right track,” Conte said on the club’s official website.
Therefore, Conte also hopes that his players will not repeat similar mistakes when dealing with Torino, at dawn WIB later (14/07).
“I say that we need to continue what we have done, certainly by trying to limit the mistakes we make. I think lately we have paid a big price because of individual mistakes. This is a period where we are immediately punished for small mistakes, but I think we are on the right track regarding our style of football: we play in high intensity, we press well and we encourage many players when attacking.” He said.
