Chelsea advised to not rush in selling Arrizabalag

One former Chelsea goalkeeper, Marc Bosnich advised the London club not to rush to sell Kepa Arrizabalaga. According to him, the Spanish goalkeeper has good quality, the club only needs to be patient.

Kepa Arrizabalaga joined Chelsea in the summer transfer market in 2018, after being bailed out from Athletic Bilbao. His arrival was none other than to replace Thibaut Courtois who at the same time left Stamford Bridge to move closer to Real Madrid.

Kepa’s performance was initially promising and consistent. But in this season, the 21-year-old figure is more often ignored by manager Frank Lampard, because it is considered not as consistent as last season.

This situation forced Chelsea to start approaching some of Europe’s top goalkeepers to be brought in next summer. However, former Blues goalkeeper Marc Bosnich suggested that his former club not rush to release Kepa.

“I think being a goalkeeper is the same as other positions, when you don’t play well, it is understandable that other people come,

“To a little different because of the price, but it wasn’t Frank Lampard who bought it, but someone else. I was impressed with the way he came back but he has had a little trouble this season,” Bosnich told Goal International.

Bosnich regards Kepa as an agile and responsive keeper. Right now, Chelsea just need to be patient considering that the man from Spain is still very young, his body weight is also fairly thin, so he can still develop much better.

“I think he is an outstanding goalkeeper with good agility and good for me. I think many people question the distribution ability of the ball, but the goalkeeper’s main task is to keep the ball off the goal, the kick is a bonus,”

“In terms of the dominance of the penalty box, he is young and thin so it takes time to do it. That’s what he must fix. For me, he is not a disaster. So far he has played well, “he said.

Now Chelsea are ranked 4th in the Premier League standings. However, the competition is currently suspended, because of the Coronavirus Outbreak. The plan will be rolled out again on 30 April.
