Zinedine Zidane is now known as one of Real Madrid’s big icons, many hope that he can last long at the Santiago Bernabeu like Sir Alex Ferguson at MU. So, what is Zidane’s answer to this?
Real Madrid itself has just managed to secure a ticket to the last 16 of the European Champions League after defeating Borussia Gladbach in the last matchdays of the group phase with a 2-0 score.
In that match, Los Blancos looked to win easily with goals scored by Karim Benzema and Rodrygo Goes, both of which came in the first half.
This victory made Zinedine Zidane’s troops win Group B with 10 points, or two ahead of Borussia Gladbach.
That said, this victory also kept coach Zinedine Zidane safe in his position as Real Madrid’s tactician. Of course this is in accordance with the expectations of the Los Blancos fans who mostly want the French man to last long at the Santiago Bernabeu.
But regarding this matter, Zidane actually emphasized that he would not be Sir Alex Ferguson’s figure for Los Blancos. In fact, he can guarantee it.
“I will never be Sir Alex Ferguson of Real Madrid. That’s for sure,” said Zidane quoted from Goal International.
For information, currently Zidane is still under contract until 2022 at Real Madrid, but he does not know and cannot guarantee how long he will remain as coach of Los Blancos.
“I don’t know how long I will stay here. I didn’t think about that,” he said.
What is clear, the former Juventus player feels at home with his career at Real Madrid as well as his life in the city.
“I am very fortunate to be at this club and I am happy even in the most difficult times. I have lived in Spain, in Madrid for a long time and I want to continue it for longer,” said Zidane.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid’s weekend is waiting for a pretty tough match where they will face city rivals, Atletico MAdrid.
