Barcelona’s performance satisfied Quique Setien
Barcelona are still unable to regain the top of the La Liga standings from Real Madrid, after a narrow win over Real Betis. However, the performance shown by Messi et al makes coach Quique Setien look so satisfied.
At the 23rd Jornada of the Spanish La Liga last weekend, Barcelona visited the headquarters of Real Betis. Still playing with the squad in the previous game, the Catalan giants were able to achieve a narrow 3-2 victory.
Although in the end won, Barcelona had suffered first. When the game has been running for 6 minutes, Canales scored through the penalty spot. Frenkie de Jong then leveled three minutes later, thanks to a sweet pass from Messi.
Not long ago, the host again won thanks to the good actions of Nabil Fekir. Sergio Busquest equalized before the close of the first half. Throughout the second half, both teams tried hard to score the winning goal. Barca finally won thanks to Clement Lenglet’s goal.
This 3-2 victory was fairly thin, but coach Quique Setien seemed satisfied with the performance shown by Messi et al. Because, they had left behind twice before finally bringing home three points.
“I really like the performance of this team. You must give appreciation for what they have shown. There are things we can do better, but I feel happy,” Quique Setien was quoted as saying by Marca.
However, Quique Setien did not necessarily forget to flatter the performance of his former team. According to the 61-year-old coach, the host performed well from the first minute. He also praised Nabil Fekir, who appeared extraordinary throughout the match.
“They forced us to really look pressing since the first minute, but they have players with good quality. Nabil Fekir appeared extraordinary and it was difficult to snatch the ball from him, but we finally found our moment,” concluded the tactician.
Apart from the three points, the victory of the Comeback action can be said to make Barcelona more confident. This is the moment of their awakening after being exposed to unpleasant issues for the past few weeks.
