Bad news, Kylian Mbappe tested positive for Covid-19!
The number of Paris Saint-Germain players who have contracted the Covid-19 has increased again. After Neymar Jr, Angel Di Maria and Leandro Paredes, now it is Kylian Mbappe’s turn to test positive for Covid-19 based on the results of the last PCR test.
As a result of this finding, Mbappe was immediately sent home from the French National Team squad, which was preparing to play several UEFA Nations League matches.
Based on Health Protocol regulations, Mbappe also immediately undergoes self-quarantine before he can carry out his usual activities outside the home.
Thus, Mbappe automatically could not participate in the UEFA Nations League Group C continued match against Croatia. The match itself is planned to take place on Wednesday (9/9/2020) in the morning tomorrow at the Stade De France, Paris.
Although he tested positive, Mbappe reportedly did not show any symptoms, or in other words, he was in the category of asymptomatic or people without symptoms.
“The results of the Covid-19 test conducted by UEFA on Monday morning stated positive. He [Mbappe] was removed from the team after receiving the results, at the end of a training session, before returning home in the evening,”
“Like all delegates, Kylian Mbappe underwent a test before the international break. The result was negative, as was the last on Wednesday, at the request of UEFA, before Sweden faced France,” said the FFF statement regarding Mbappe’s condition.
If in accordance with the existing protocol rules, Mbappe will undergo self-quarantine for the next 14 days. This time period may increase depending on the results of subsequent tests.
That way, Mbappe will certainly miss the inaugural match of the 2020/21 French Ligue 1 season against Lens on 19 September.
In addition, the player was also threatened with not participating when Les Parisiens met Marseille, Metz and Nice in the next three parties.
As such, Thomas Tuchel’s Army was in a pretty delicate situation. Because several important players, including Neymar and Angel Di Maria, have previously tested positive for Covid-19.
The two players along with Leandro Paredes are known to have vacationed in the same place, Ibiza, Spain. However, it seems they will come back sooner than Mbappe.
