Everton’s new midfielder, James Rodriguez, has spoken about the transfer issue, saying that he plans to return to Real Madrid in the next summer transfer market.
James Rodriguez has actually been a ‘public idol’ for the Santiago Bernabeu, because at the start of his arrival in 2014, the player’s performance really helped Real Madrid win the title.
However, the situation has changed since Carlo Ancelotti was sacked as manager. James began to rarely play, and the situation was made worse by a recurring injury.
Realizing that he no longer has a place in the Real Madrid first team, James finally decided to move to Everton in the transfer market last summer. With the Premier League club, the Colombian was reunited with his former coach, Carlo Ancelotti.
James’s performance with The Toffees is quite slick, where his adaptation process is going well. So far he has packed for 5 goals and 4 assists in 18 Premier League matches.
That’s why, news emerged that Real Madrid were interested in bringing James back to the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.
Unfortunately, James himself is not interested in returning to Real Madrid, at least in the near future.
“Kembali ke Real Madrid tidak masuk dalam rencana saya dalam waktu dekat ini,” ujar James dalam streaming Twitch.
This is because James feels it would be a waste to return to the Santiago Bernabeu because the situation he will encounter will be the same as before.
“For now I don’t want to go back there [Madrid]. No one there wants me to be there, and that is something normal in the world of football,” said the former Porto.
Even so, that doesn’t mean that James has completely closed the door to return to Real Madrid, because after all no one knows what will happen in the next few years.
“We never know what will happen in the next two, three or four years, because anything can happen in football. But for now, I don’t think it [coming back to Madrid] will happen,” he said.
