Alisson confident Liverpool can win the league
Maintaining the Premier League Title is never easy for any team. However, Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has a high sense of optimism in this regard.
As is known, last season Liverpool succeeded in becoming the king of Premier Laegue. They managed to collect 18 points more than the defending champions and closest rivals, Manchester City.
In fact, the 2019/20 season was the season in which the Reds managed to end the Premier League title drought that has lasted the past three decades.
As defending champions, Jurgen Klopp’s troops may still be seeded this season. But, they also can’t close their eyes to see the strongest rivals strengthen themselves in the summer transfer market.
For example Chelsea, so far the London club has brought in 7 new players. While Liverpool itself has only recruited three players, including Kostas Tsimikas, Diogo Jota and Thiago Alcantara.
Regarding the three new recruits, Alisson Becker said he was very happy. According to him, the current Liverpool squad is good enough.
“We have top players here, top people, top people with the desire to win things and do great things for this club,”
“The desire to develop is what we need in this team because history says that not many clubs win titles two seasons in a row,” Alisson was quoted as saying by the Daily Star.
Despite threats from rival clubs, the Brazilian national team player is very confident in Liverpool’s chances of retaining the Premier League title.
“We have to believe in ourselves and we know our quality and our goals but it depends on how much we show it on the pitch and in games,”
“Last season, we didn’t think about winning titles. We put 100 percent of our focus on the next game and the next challenge. This season, we will do the same, “he said.
Meanwhile, from the first three matches this season Liverpool have won three consecutive wins. Finally, they beat Arsenal 3-1.
Unfortunately, Alisson Becker has not been able to play in this match due to injury.
