Alison Becker Wants Liverpool To Win The European Champions League

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker admits that he wants to win the European Champions League for the second time in the 2020/21 campaign, is it possible that the player’s wish will come true?

Liverpool itself won this annual title in the 2018/19 season, where the success of Jurgen Klopp’s troops at that time was also inseparable from the role of Alisson Becker who was a mainstay in goal in goal.

In the following season, Liverpool did not manage to defend the title, but they succeeded in securing the Premier League trophy for the first time in history.

Whereas this season, the Reds have secured tickets to the quarter-finals after a 4-0 aggregate defeat to RB Leipzig. But in the Premier League, the Marseyside Team’s performance is fairly mediocre.

In fact, Liverpool, who are currently in 8th place in the standings, are now eight points behind Chelsea who are in 4th place. In short, Liverpool need consistent wins if they want to qualify for the Champions League next season.

However, it also depends on the results of the opposing team at the top. Therefore, there is another alternative way to achieve the target of qualifying for the UCL next season, namely by becoming the champion of the Champions League this season.

Now, when talking about the chance to win the European Champions League again, goalkeeper Alisson Becker admits he is confident.

“Life is about fighting for dreams. You may change or renew the dream, but you must continue to fight for what makes you feel good,”

“In football, winning trophies is the main goal. I already know what it feels like to win the Champions League final and want to experience it again and again,” he told FourFourTwo.

Furthermore, this Brazilian player emphasized that Liverpool are a competitive team, it’s just that luck is not taking sides following the injury of several important players including Virgil Van Dijk.

“We are a competitive team, so we feel we can fight in every competition.”

“Unfortunately, we lost one of our key players in Virgil van Dijk. Losing a player of his size is not easy for any team, because he is the best defender in the world. But his replacements have done a good job,” he concluded.
