Aleix Espargaro not disappointed finished in 10th place, but …
Aprilia Gressini Rider, Aleix Espargaro was only able to finish in 10th place in the Third Series in Brno, Czech Republic last weekend. Indeed, these results did not disappoint him, but there was one note that became Aprilia’s homework.
As is known, the 31-year-old racer started the race in 2nd position on the first lap. But slowly, he continued to be ‘smoked’ by other riders such as Fabio Quartararo and Valentino Rossi.
In the end, the man from Spain reached the finish line in 10th position. Of course, this should be an unsatisfactory result, even far from being satisfied.
However, the father of two kids admits that he cannot really feel disappointed with the results of the race last weekend. Especially considering the fact that he failed to reach the finish line in the first two series which took place at the Jerez Circuit.
Even so, there are still notes that Espargaro thinks should be PR for the Aprilia team, one of which is the acceleration of the ride. According to Espargaro, the RS-GP cannot accelerate properly when turning.
“In general, I am satisfied to finish after the disaster in the first two series. So I can be happy, especially since Brno is one of our worst tracks. We are not far behind.”
“But after qualifying, I thought I could not follow other riders, because our motorbike could not turn properly, lost a lot of time,” he concluded.
Meanwhile, being ranked 10th means that Aleix Espargaro has pocketed six points in MotoGP this season. This number makes him only sit in 18th place in the standings.
But, there is still a chance to justify this position. Next, Aleix and other MotoGP riders will return to the track in two consecutive races at the Red Bull Ring Circuit, namely the Austrian MotoGP on 14-16 August and the Styria MotoGP on 21-23 August.
Aprilia needs careful preparation in order to hit the next two series. Especially seeing KTM Rider, Brad Binder managed to be the fastest in the series in the Czech Republic yesterday.
