Being dumped is not a reason for Adnan Januzaj to hate his former club, Manchester United. Even now, the Belgian player still loves the Red Devils and keeps up with their developments.
For information, Adnan Januzaj is one of the most talented young talents Manchester United has ever had. He only had the opportunity to be promoted to United’s first team in the 2013/2014 season and was doing very well.
At the age of only 17 at the time, Januzaj even managed to pack four goals and four assists for the Red Devils in the Premier League.
However, Manchester United’s change of coach made Januzaj lose his place in the main squad. Slowly left out, until finally he was actually released permanently in 2017 to Real Sociedad.
Well, interestingly, together with the La Liga club, the Belgian player will meet his ex in the Europa League. Both teams will compete for tickets to the last 16 of the annual tournament on Friday morning WIB (19/02).
Ahead of the meeting, Januzaj was then asked about his feelings for Manchester United who had abandoned him in the past. Who would have thought, this 26-year-old midfielder admitted that he still loves Manchester United until now.
“I really love Manchester United. United is my favorite club, and even today I still see every United game. I love United,” said Januzaj as quoted by SportsMole.
While it would certainly feel strange to face a club he has hosted for so many years, Januzaj is still ready to look at the match with a lot of confidence, showing Manchester United that they have squandered a good player.
“When I knew I had to play United it was a rather strange feeling.”
“In the end I want to fight them and try to beat them, to show them also what they have wasted,” said Januzaj.
At Real Sociedad, Januzaj is not always part of the main squad, but his performance is quite reliable. This season, he has packed 2 goals and 2 assists in the La Liga event.
