According to Rossi, the 2020 season is the best season

Valentino Rossi has had a 25-year career in Grand Prix, with 21 of which he has competed at the highest level. What’s interesting is that the 2020 season is considered by The Doctor to be the best season, why is that?

Indeed, MotoGP 2020 looks unique compared to previous seasons. The competition looks tighter and unpredictable as far as the six series have gone.

In fact, there are a total of 12 different residents on the podium from the six series. Especially if you look at the temporary standings, between the top standings and the 10th place are only separated by 27 points.

It didn’t stop there, between Dovizioso who was at the top and Joan Mirr who was in 4th place, only four points away.

No wonder Rossi, who has had a 25-year career in MotoGP, thinks this 2020 season is the season with the best competition.

“There are a lot of people who like 2-stroke nostalgia, but I’m not included. I think this is the best season of MotoGP, and so are the bikes we have ridden.”

“But it seems I really prefer the 1990s or 2000s, because at that time I won more often!” Joked this 41-year-old rider.

The Monster Energy Yamaha Team Rider then shared his opinion regarding the equal performance of the riders this season. Starting from the motor factor to the talent of the rider itself.

“We have to understand why we are all so close together. This could be due to technical matters, because we have the same electronic system and tires.”

“But it could also be because the riders are more professional and more prepared. This small thing can make a difference too, “said the Italian racer.

Rossi is also determined to reduce the 26 points gap with Dovizioso, who is now at the top of the standings.

“It is very important to get points. I am not too far from the top of the standings, and the race for the title is still wide open,” concluded the nine times world champion.

For information, Valentino Rossi is currently ranked 9th in the standings with 58 points.
