A Nail Biting Game Between Germany And Mexico
The current world cup holders team Germany would be trying hard to retain the cup this time. They are locking horns with Mexico in the first match of Group F on 17th June, 2018 at the packed Luzhniki stadium.
These 2 teams are the most likely to qualify from their group so this is going to be an action packed game. Germany is in no mood to underestimate the Mexicans. The German coach Joachim Low stated that Mexico plays a very high level game, with extremely good technique and tactics. For Germany, it would be a tough opponent for the opening match. This German squad is full of young generation players on whom the hopes are running high after their impeccable qualification record and the Confederation Cup trophy win.
The team has good players that it would be a hard time for the coach to select the squad. Previous players of world cup 2014 will make it due to their experience and ability. Thomas Muller is their best player till date. He can play at the centre forward, all by himself or with an attacking trio. Midfielders Mesut Ozil, Toni Kroos and Sami Khedira are the key ones who will get another opportunity to showcase their games.
The central defenders trio of Jerome Boateng, Mats Hummels and Joshua Kimmich too will get a ticket to Russia.
On their part, Mexico even though fared well in their qualifying groups, doubts are hovering on the team’s performance. Javier Hernandez continues to be a star player with his goal scoring abilities. Captain Andres Guardado is a calm leader at the mid field and at the back, there is Hector Moreno, who is equally calm. The other regular players to be wary of are Hector Herrera, Jesus Corona, Miguel Layun and goalie Guillermo Ochoa.
Hirving Lozano performed splendidly since joining PSV and it is going to be his first ever world cup tournament. The team is strong in attack but the back is very prone to attacks. They like to keep things under control but cannot take it when they have to perform under pressure.
Though Germany is difficult to beat, Mexico is not the one to surrender meekly. They are hoping to be more dangerous and competitive in Russia, aware of the fact that if they lose this game, there would be a mountain of pressure on them for the next match against South Korea.
Arguments and discussions apart, Germans are considered a favorite here and Mexico will be having a tough time to overcome their opponents.
